Hello Again.
So i am back from Washington D.C., after seeing some incredible things and i'm in New York again for a few days until i catch a train to Toronto to make first family contact with Mum. The last time i made a proper post i was in New York, but minus the photos so i'll try and show you some New York, celebrities and D.C.
The Financial District, Lower Manhatten etc (World Trade Centre Towers stood on the right hand side)
Chrysler Building and friends
Strawberry Fields (forever), Central Park
"Ok George, let's have a look at what you have done with the Penske file" (Seinfeld)
The Brooklyn Bridge
Christopher Walken (!!!!)
the Washington Monument
Congress, The Hill
Natural History Museum, D.C. (David Attenborough eat your heart out)
The White House
Lincoln Memorial
Ok, so there are just a few of the many, many i have and like Katie i wish i could upload, but it takes and age to put them up and i don't want to spoil the 5 hour slide nights i'll be having (god knows what year that will be). Generally i have found America to be a very enjoyable place to be and very easy to travel around by myself. The many quirks of the people here keep things interesting. It is true that meal portions are ginourmous; i didn't noticed until the second week thinking that i was getting more bang for my buck but i was really getting more fat through my arteries. Things are also pretty cheap, especially alcohol (go figure), public transport and people willing to help abound at all locations (when i say help, i mean grunt and point, but that's helpful enough). It's also worth mentioning that i have found New York the safest place i have been so far. I was walking around Brooklyn at 1am this morning and it was safe. I have a feeling those who make trouble can't afford to live here anymore.
Anyway, i hope everyone is well and keep commenting.
Love to all.
David.

Hi David
Good news and photographs, from you. Good USA tips also, no doubt your New Yorkery will come in handy come December.
You'll be glad to hear that I am going to see AIH tomorrow night at the Zoo so I will be sparing a thought for you considering you are amongst their most avid fans.
BE SAFE!
Loosey.
PS I commented on your Church-related post, don't know if you have had a chance to see that yet...
Hey Dave,
Wow those are wonderful pictures of wonderful places. Sadly though, I am most impressed by the Penske shot. "Your Penske material Dave"
Have you had any pizza yet? Is it good? Whats the chicken like?
end transmission...
Yep you could say i've had some pizza...pretty much everyday really. It's about $2.15 a slice (New York Slice style) and the 'first' pizza joint that opened in New York is nearby so i've been going there.
Ahhh AIH...i wish i was there with you, that would be great. And for december i would highly, highly recommend staying downtown as uptown is a traffic and business and tourist nightmare.
And i had some fried chicken at sea world (hopefully it was chicken...) and it was pretty rank. But you might like it sig.
How is everybody else? Coco? Sam? Hannah? Eve? Any other people reading.
Love Dave
Young Dave
Don't really get a chance to speak to Hannah Janette too often but I can assure you that all others are well.
I think Coco checks this thing from time to time, on the rare days when computer operations don't get the better of him.
I too enjoyed the Penske shot.
End (video, live) transmission...

Please tell me you also tried the NYC hot dogs and pretzels from a street side vender - the concept may seem revolting but they are oh so tasty!!! (or maybe that is my unsophisticated taste!) Just don't eat too many of them!
Stay safe on your trip to Toronto and enjoy the week with Mother.
Lots of Love
Liz :)
hi dave. how are you? good to be hearing from you.
the chicken sounds delightful.
where are you headed next on your travels?
The photos are excellent bye the way, nice going.
I lost my snow peacock, it escaped.
Do you know where kt is?
Cheers, Zoe.
Hello everyone,
Yes, yes i have tried some pretzal and hot dogs, they are tasty. But the price seems to be flexible depending on how much money they see in your wallet, it's sometimes $1 sometimes $3, sometimes variations...
So i'm off to toronto tomorrow for 10 days or so in canada with my Martha in the Marriott! I just got an email from katie and she is heading to Laos right now on a slow boat that takes two days. Hopefully that is not to treacherous.
I'm going to a live taping of Jon Stewart's Daily Show this afternoon.
Good times.
Love to you all.
p.s. and yes Zoe the chicken was delightful, all chewy and covered in KFC style fried-ness. Accompanied, of course, by a corn cob, old fries and a bread roll so sweet it wasn't savoury.
I'm orright, thanks.
In exam block at the now, not great fun. Have one on the 18th, two on the 24th, and then I'm free for 6 weeks summer holiday in Europe.
After that it's Modest Mouse on the 26th, Paris 19th-22nd of June, Sweden and Denmark and Roskilde Festival in July, and plenty of good times and classic hits in between.
Enjoy Toronto, see you in Paris!
- Hannah xx
PS - pretzels and hotdogs ain't got nothin' on the Scottish diet of chips, cheese and mayonnaise, deep fried mars bars and Irn Bru. and I wonder why I've put on half a stone since moving OS...
Of course I'm reading!!
sorry haven't commented seemingly as much, just not as witty as you other cyber-riders. also busy getting assignment group members and my mother off my back. she's pretty heavy.
fantastic photos Dave, how's the marriot in CAN?
When i was little, we sometimes went to the Marriot with Dad for conferences at the coast. one day, we were driving down the coast to meet granny & gramps who were staying at a caravan park. (moolooabah?)
anyway, i got all exited thinking we were going to the Marriot, and after asking if we were, I was informed that no, we were actually going to the "Morriot" which was my grandad Morrie's caravan!
I still find that amusing...
AIH were really fun, they had so many musical tricks up their short little sleeves! goes to show what you can do with good quality keyboards & synths & beats & cowbells!
just passed up Splendour, not that worried about missing Hilltop Hoods.
anyway, much love, miss you Dave,
Christian.
