From Toronto
Hell again, this time from the downtown Marriott Hotel in Toronto where i have met up with my mother and she is putting me up in a 4 star classy hotel room until the 19th of May; she is here for a conference. Good timing i know. I'm currently sitting in the sports bar downstairs which has free wireless internet (all for the cost of drinking a coke slowly for three hours) so i will put up some photos soon if anyone is interested.
Katie i believe is either in or on her way to Laos and i'm not sure about the internet but hopefully we'll be hearing from her soon as well.
So everyone stay happy and i'll hear from you soon.
Love David
xoxop.s. how was AIH? (for those who know what i'm talking about)
Last word to Lady of Liberty...

Hey Dave
I expect to see dozens more photographs from you! Take advantage of that wireless whilst at the Marriot!
Well it has been a busy few days for me (socially). Saw AIH on Wednesday night with Coco, they were really good. Their live energy is really infectious, like some kind of crazy musical centrifugal force going on!!! Anyway they played for about an hour, finishing up with their new single 'heart it races' which is a pretty sweet song too. Also their opening act was that guy 'Muscles' who has that song 'Ice Cream' he was pretty cool too I thought.
Ok next we saw Love of Diagrams at the Troubadour which was good for a bit of earnest post-punk on a Friday night.
Last night two 21sts with Eve, one of which I attended dressed as Dame Edna so that spiced my night up a little. I was a victim of bullies.
Having dragged this on I must now be off. In answer to your initial question: Yes, AIH were good!
Ok keep blogging with the latest news and and Canada related tips for me (hoping to do Ontario and Quebec in Jan w/ Eve and Shob).
Lots of trans-continental love and respect to you and Mother Young, Loosey.
That gets the award for the most comphresive and interesting comment yet.
Wish i was there at both those gigs, love of diagrams = good!
Love david
p.s. so far toronto is fine...reminds a bit of what Adelaide would be like. Maybe i'm not looking hard enough...
G'day Dave,
Arcade Fire are playing in Toronto this week, are you going?
Also, will you be visiting Montreal/Quebec at all? There are some amazing bands from there, including two of my new favourites, Stars and Malajube. You should check if they're playing any dates soon, they're both oh-so-fantastic and right up your alley.
Very much looking forward to catching up over a cafe au lait and pain au chocolat in Paris. You still okay for the 19th-22nd?
xx Hannah
Of course I'm reading!!
sorry haven't commented seemingly as much, just not as witty as you other cyber-riders. also busy getting assignment group members and my mother off my back. she's pretty heavy.
fantastic photos Dave, how's the marriot in CAN?
When i was little, we sometimes went to the Marriot with Dad for conferences at the coast. one day, we were driving down the coast to meet granny & gramps who were staying at a caravan park. (moolooabah?)
anyway, i got all exited thinking we were going to the Marriot, and after asking if we were, I was informed that no, we were actually going to the "Morriot" which was my grandad Morrie's caravan!
I still find that amusing...
AIH were really fun, they had so many musical tricks up their short little sleeves! goes to show what you can do with good quality keyboards & synths & beats & cowbells!
just passed up Splendour, not that worried about missing Hilltop Hoods.
also, hey Hannah, good from you about Malajube!
anyway, much love, miss you Dave,
Christian.
(must remember to comment in the most recent post)
Hi Dave
3 hour cokes? your crazy man. you need to slam those things down...How are those BJ's going? Blue Jays that would be. Is it baseball season? that would be sweet.
My little god daughter from Africa came over to Australia last week for a while, shes a cutie. She likes me more than Amy (thats cruel but true)
I think I am developing a putt-putt complex, I keep on thinking about it and then playing it, and then analysing how I handled the course.
Anyway, keep on doing great things and I will keep on reading about it and then attempt (albeit failingly) to match that greatness.
love sig
